DESCRIPTIONS
The following class levels are listed from least challenging to more
challenging. Everyone progresses through the different levels at their
own pace based on individual abilities. When you are ready to change
levels, talk with your instructor about what to expect. We also offer private lessons and Belly Dance
classes (see below).
Yoga Level
1
Creating a Foundation™
Perfect if you are just getting started or seeking a gentle yoga class.
We practice beginner level yoga poses to strengthen core muscles, along
with introductory breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques. Most
students take this class for three to six months to get a good
foundation in basic alignment and strength before progressing to the
next level. No prior yoga experience required.
Yoga Level
1 - 2
Mixing it Up™
A bit more challenging than the Level 1, but not quite a Level 2. We
consider this class a beginner to intermediate mixed level class.
Yoga Level 2
Developing the Practice™
Ideal for students who have been practicing yoga regularly for at least 3 months.
We practice a warm up flow sequence (Sun Salutation), explore different levels of challenge for various poses, and
expand on proper alignment, so it's important to have a basic
understanding of pose names and alignment. Range of student ability varies
the greatest at this level, and students learn how to adapt to their individual needs. Most students take this class for six months to a year
or so before progressing to the next level.
Yoga Level
2 - 3
Mixing it Up™
This class is open to level 2 and 3 students. We teach modifications for each pose to offer more of a challenge, if desired, and to
illustrate how poses progress.
Level
3
Refining the Practice™
The Level 3 class is for intermediate to advanced students who have been
practicing regularly for a minimum of one year, have a
understanding of correct pose alignment and pose names, and move fluidly
in the Sun Salutation. The class focuses on deepening physical
awareness, exploring challenging poses, and developing a meditation in
motion.

services and classes!
Private and Semi-private Lessons
We offer private and semi-private lessons to prepare you better for
taking a class, to aid you in modifying poses if you have physical
limitations, or to teach you a personal routine.

Belly Dance Class
This class gives a fascinating glimpse into the history of the dance we call
“Belly Dance,” which is more properly called
“Oriental “or “Middle Eastern” Dance. Students learn basic movements, and a complete dance routine. We
will stress basic stance and posture, and students learn how to isolate different areas of the body,
including undulations, figure eights, hip circles, and, of course,
shimmies.
The Belly Dance class is taught in
eight-week sessions, so the start date for the class changes. Please
visit the Class Schedule page for the
dates for the next session. We do have a wait list if it is past the
start date for the next session and you want to take the class.
