A busy to-do list can create a sense of being overwhelmed or
stressed out. Stress that builds up over time, or chronic
stress, will take on the
physical form of muscle tension, sleeplessness, anxiety,
shortness of breath, poor digestion and irritability.
Restorative yoga poses use blankets, pillows and other props to
support the body so that it can relax completely. The different
relaxation poses massage the spine and internal organs, reducing
the physical effects of stress. Students in a Restorative Yoga
class learn techniques for relaxing the body that they can
practice at home, as well.
Based on the book by Judith Lasater, Relax and Renew, this class
includes detailed instruction, readings, handouts and a stress
reducer gift kit. All props provided. No experience required.
Students do need to be able to transition to and from the floor
with ease.
Join us for our eighth annual Restorative Yoga class and learn
great techniques for reversing the effects of stress! Be sure to
register early, classes fill quickly!
Fee: $50
Member rate for current HLY students: $40
Registration required.
Deadline for registration 11/30/2010.
Space is limited to 10 students per class.
